I decided it was time to build me a hotrod again, just for the fun of it. After spending time in my ‘warehouse’, I found a nice simple kit, perfect for a quick, but fun build:
The pictures are a bit behind, as I went for it and didn’t want to pause for pictures, sorry.
The kit is based on a ’80s take on hotrods, so bucketseats, weird parcelshelf speakers and more of that.
To adress that, I got those horrible speakers off:
Instead of the bucket seats, I found a bench, which will look better than those buckets.
The engine was painted in the same color as the lower half of the body.
And the frame the same color as the topside of the body.
The body was masked to paint the headliner and pillars.
I gave the car some ghosted flames, they are only visible if the light hits it correctly.
The parcel shelf was given a new piece and shaped the same.
Headliner painted
Gastank painted
And uncovered.
I am not getting much done at the moment, so progress is slow. But I do get some much needed cleaning done in the hobby attic.
I flocked the floor of the 37
And started working on the engine
And the frame.
Well, progress isn’t that fast, but at least I get some stuff done in a few decent hours.
I started with detailing the engine
And added 2 Cherrybombs
I made from the kitparts and some extra material a better looking aircleaner.
then I made my ‘signature’ v-belts, they look so much better than box-stock.
I put the ignition wires in the right place
And glued the radiator in place, I left it boxstock, since it will be hardly visible after completion, I did add 2 wires though
The body is almost done, just a few more things and it can go on the fenders.
And 2 shots of the interior.
